STLMade Beer That is Good, and Does Good

St. Louis has a history of making good beer. It also has a history of making a difference. In 2019, four STLMade organizations have collaborated to create a special beer that does both, with all proceeds benefitting a local nonprofit. Making history again while making a difference.

Introducing Beer 4 Good: a uniquely St. Louis, limited-edition, bourbon-barrel-aged beer that gives back, developed by 4 Hands Brewing Co. and Urban Chestnut Brewing Company in partnership with Major Brands, benefitting Mission: St. Louis

It Started With a Barrel

Inspired by Women Who Whisky™, a limited-edition 2018 bourbon that raised over $300,000 for St. Louis nonprofits, the two breweries combined two ales together – Imperial Milk Stout (4 Hands) and an English Barleywine (UCBC). Next, they aged it for over a year in the same Maker’s Mark 46 barrel created by Major Brand’s Sue McCollum and the team behind Women Who Whisky, who are “passing the barrel forward” for another groundbreaking collaboration.

The end result is a rich and decadent beer with notes of Bourbon, chocolate, sweet caramel, vanilla – and richly infused with an STLMade passion for moving the region forward and making it stronger.

Mission: St. Louis

We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the first year of Beer 4 Good than by donating the proceeds to local nonprofit, Mission: St. Louis, who has made it their goal to empower people to transform their lives, families and neighborhoods through education, job training/employment and charity that responds to the current needs of our STLMade community. To break the cycle of poverty in thoughtful, strategic and tireless ways.

Good in Every Bottle Sold

Every bottle sold means more proceeds donated to Mission: St. Louis to help make a difference in our community. Get the limited-edition Beer 4 Good before it’s gone – and help our region grow stronger with every one.

Women WHo Whisky

“This limited-edition blend was the first barrel created by all women, the first made by a distributor, and the first whose proceeds went 100 percent to charity.”
